The Philippines has one of the highest levels of marine biodiversity in the world.  The marine life come in all colors, shapes and sizes.  They also have interesting and sometimes, even bizarre behavior.  These are the reasons why Nino Jacinto has had a life-long interest in marine life, and he would like to share his fascination with others.  By telling stories about Philippine marine life, he hopes that others will not only appreciate such living treasures, but also  become more aware of their fragility.  Hopefully, this will  lead to more awareness of, and concern for, marine life and their habitats.

Nino has been a certified scuba diver since 1987.  Since 2005, he has been giving presentations about Philippine marine life to students of public and private schools, and also to educators and civic groups.  From January 2006 to December 2007, he was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Haribon Foundation for the Conservation of Natural Resources, Inc.  Aside from his profession as a real estate broker, he has also been working as a Reef Check Instructor and as the Training Manager for Reef Check Philippines since September 2010.   Reef Check Philippines is part of the global network of the Reef Check Foundation, an international marine conservation organization which operates in close to 100 countries.
